Vanilla Derby is GROWING!

whats up everybody?
just wanted to post and let everyone know that with the release of the Backspin Revenge and the new V2 Brass Knuckle derby boot Meow Mix, Miley, 12 Guage, and I are all excited to have added another member to our growing team at Vanilla Derby. Most of you all will know this guy from jamskating, but we just picked up another powerhouse in men’s derby and have already sent him on his first trip, out to Rollercon this week with Steph…… please welcome to the Vanilla Derby family, Jeremy “Streak” Strecker from Florida and the Magic City Misfits mens roller derby team. Jeremy is already skating on our Brass Knuckle V2 and has been skating on many different sets of our Backspin wheels and he has already been shutting people down this week out at Rollercon and as always he is doing some crazy stuff with the product. Look for me or Streak at any men’s bouts along with upcoming WFTDA events along side the ladies of Vanilla Derby.

What’s up everybody?

just wanted to show everybody how tough derby can be sometimes for those of your that are skeptic about how serious we are about this sport.

last month i played in the biggest men’s tournament to date, The Spring Roll. At some point during the second game my team played a good friend of mine Dirty Larry from the TC Terrors, he decided to take a 20ft late hit on me, which was a good penalty to take, since it flattened me… anyways when i fell my legs got twisted up and i fell straight down and hit a metal grate that was covering an electrical outlet on the concrete floor we were playing on. Needless to say you can all see the end result….. its tough sometimes! ha-ha!

Vanilla Derby at the Clover Cup!

What’s up everybody, this is Matomic down in Dallas! HUGE derby tournament this past weekend down here, the first annual Clover Cup! Tampa Bay, Houston, No Coast(Nebraska), Atlanta, and Dallas’ all star women’s teams duked it out this weekend and Vanilla Derby was there! we had a booth set up all weekend for all the girls to come check out all the awesome stuff Vanilla has this season, including our new derby specific wheel, the Backspin Revenge, and the Vanilla Brass Knuckle Derby boot.

Miley and I literally had people trying the derby boot on all weekend! it was crazy! We also awarded a Dallas skater a certificate for a free boot because of her dedication to that league’s injured skater fund, Rink Panther, the injured skater funds is a collection/fundraiser that raises money for skaters injured while playing derby, which assisted Vanilla Skater Miley Virus to afford her MRI and surgery she underwent last month on her knee, don’t worry tho she is already back on her skates, and should be cleared for contact in a few weeks! Vanilla was even on the local News! they loved our skater owned, skater operated philosophy, and blasted us on TV!!!

here are some pics from the weekend.First pic is me working the Vanilla booth with some skaters checking out the boots, the second is Dallas Deception skater Vanilla Ice Pick hanging out with Vanilla, i had to snap a pic of Vanilla Ice Pick at the Vanilla Booth, thought it was funny! Last pick is one of our MVP winner’s from Queen of the Hive that received a free Vanilla Brass Knuckle Boot but she didnt have it and a plate to mount it to until this weekend so she had to skate on her old boot , i guess from the picture you can tell, it’s time to get on that  Vanilla derby boot! she slipped in her old busted 911 boot, and some huge girl literally squashed her!!! yikes! her name is Anita Riot, and she is an official BA, can’t wait to give you guys an update of her once she is on the derby boot she got this weekend!

Vanilla Derby

high jump……what!?

just wanted to show you how much jamskating/rink skating has effected the way i play derby, here are some photos of the high jump contest we had at the Queen of the Hive tournament. Jeremy Streaker, Mo “quadzilla” Sanders, and myself made it to the final round, we were all able to clear the 4′ mark, i got lucky and was able to clear the 4′ 2″ mark to win, as you can see in the picture, it was by only a wheel, but just in case you guys thought “white men can’t jump” you should see us jump on skates ha-ha….. check out the shirt, i am Vanilla Derby lol.
