Vanilla Blackmail Speed Inline Skate

Your first question:  ”Why are you doing speed inline?”

Answer: Vanilla is all about getting people on wheels.  Not just quad skates – any skates.

There are TONS of kids out there who would be really good at inline speed skating if they could afford to get into the sport.  Right now, first time skaters have to drop at least $350 to get into a new, up-to-date pair of speed inline skates.  Yeah… $350.  Do you really think mom or dad is gonna drop $350 on a pair of skates for a kid that is going to outgrow them in a year?  Drop $350 on a pair of skates that the kid may not even use in two months?

And what if the skater has to pay for the skates himself?  Do you know how many hours it takes to actually save up $350 working a $7.50/hour job?  (Hint, it’s like forever.)  Growing up in a single-parent home (my mom’s) where we were “working class”, if I wanted something for $350, that would be my birthday (Oct 28th) and Christmas presents combined – and that’s all we could get.  Just one present.

Here’s the point: If Vanilla can help get speed inline started again in America, then we’re going to do it – anyway we can.  By manufacturing a high quality, low cost speed inline skate, we’ll introduce a whole new group of skaters to this sport and hopefully put USA back on the map in inline speed skating.

  • Coming from the Vanilla speed rep herself, you will love these speed inlines. Not only are they affordable, but they were tested by the best of the best. And I don’t mean just me! I’m talking world class skaters from Orlando. Maybe Vanilla will come out with a super high end setup one day… I can only dream! Enjoy!

well im a speed skater and i acually think it is a real nice boot. becaUSE THE MOUNTING BLOCKS ARE SET JUST ENOUGH SO THE BOOT DOES NOT RUB .an i skate on some pretty nice skates but im taking these in to consideration.

I am very excited about your new Inline skate. I am 2008 National Speed Skating champion in Master men and an assistant coach for HP Inline Speed Skating Club. I also work as an assistant mgr. at Frye’s Roller Rink. We have a number of skaters in our rink with so much talent but won’t join the speed team because of the high prices of inlines. We have ordered some of these inlines for our rink. Hopefully this will change the mindset of the parents and the skaters here and we will get some new talent to join the club. Can’t wait to see and skate on these new inlines.

I’m going to give lowcut boots a try, and these, as many tell me, are a good way to start. I already know the double push, and can skate a very good speed with regular rollerblades, so I’m guessing these will, with just a little practice, improve my speed and overall performance.

I have the Vanilla Blackmail. I love them. I’ve been skating rec inline skates for about 8 years and I always want to try inline speed skates but I was scared. It took me 8 years to build up the courage to buy speeds skates. When I saw the Blackmail price I said what the hell I’ll get them. Because of the price for these skates I did’nt expect much, but I was surprise about the comfort and the speed of these skates. It took me abut 2 day to get use to the low ankle cuff. And after heat molding them it gets even better. On Sept 25,2010 I’ll be skating my Vanilla Blackmail in a 13 mile race in Prospect park in Brooklyn NY. At 47 years old Vanilla skates is giving me new trills everyday. Thank you.
